About Me
During the course of my studies in psychology, I conducted research in health psychology, with a focus on the motivation to change, physical exercise, nutrition, and chronic pain. During this time, I also had the privilege of working alongside my supervisor with university athletes at the Université de Moncton, further developing my understanding of the psychological aspects of sport and performance. In addition, I was an assistant coach for a girls' high school hockey team which deepened my understanding of the mental side of the game. My connection to sport is also personal, as a former university athlete who played for the women’s university hockey team, and as an athlete who participated in various sports throughout my life, I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards of the athletic journey. I often say that I traded in my figure skates for hockey skates :).
I completed a CPA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology through an internship at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation and the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I obtained my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2013 and then worked as a licensed psychologist at the Moncton Hospital, providing services in the areas of health psychology and mental health.
In 2015, I opened my private practice and completed a Grief Recovery Method certification in San Diego, California through The Grief Recovery Institute. I continued to pursue ongoing training in this area, recognizing that grief is a universal human experience, and sought to develop the tools and skills to better support my clients through their grief and recovery journey. In 2018, I had the honor of being a speaker at The Grief Recovery Method International Conference in Los Angeles, California.
In my practice, I have focused on two main areas: sport psychology and grief recovery. I provide services in both French and English to adolescents and adults. In addition to working with athletes, I also work with parents, coaches, and sport organizations. I have extensive experience supporting high-performance athletes and professionals.
One thing you will quickly learn about me is that I do not take myself too seriously. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy incorporating it into my work whenever it feels appropriate. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends and being in nature. Physical activity and sport have always been an important part of my life, but I equally value rest, recovery, and taking time to recharge.
